This song has haunted every step I've taken since I was 16 years old. Then and now, I feel like I've seen that story before, as everybody probably has, and it bugs the hell out of me.

Green Day - "The Grouch"
Tuesday, July 13, 2010
The video for Set Your Goals "Gaia Bleeds" could be the punk rock version of Van Hagar's "Right Now."

Just got this bumper sticker in the mail

Corporations are not people and can't vote.
The primary motivation of a corporation is to make money - actual people, nations and humanity get no consideration in the conversation unless it impacts the bottom line.
This fact doesn't make corporations evil, but it should be a reminder that you, your well being and your country mean nothing to them.
Unions also were included in the Supreme Court decision the sticker references that allows certain business entities to make unlimited political contributions.
Unions exist to protect and benefit their members. Though they seem to be willing to put companies out of business lately, despite the fact that it wouldn't benefit their members...
They care about their members only, and shouldn't be able to outright make contributions any more than corporations should.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones - A Pretty Sad Excuse
Download now or listen on posterous
In the last few days a staggering number of verses caught my attention that was somehow about making "it" happen as the only way to, you know, make it happen.
I'm talking everything from Eminem to The Soft Pack to TV On The Radio. I didn't write them all down, and it could just be me. This Mighty Mighty Bosstones song was the tipping point though.
It remains to be seen if anybody outside of my house actually heard Pin Points and Gin Joints. No doubt, it slides in nicely with the run of classic mid-90s albums the Bosstones pumped out before crashing the mainstream with Alicia Silverstone.
Dicky Barrett may have a psuedo-day job, but he knows what it takes to get there, because he's still Dicky-friggin-Barrett.
Skank on, my friends.

Astronautalis & DJ Fishr Pryce - Do You Believe In Life After Thugs
Download now or listen on posterous
Who knew white-boy rappers could be so good for a Saturday night jam? Granted, Astronautilus isn't new to the game but that beat made me stand up a little straighter and then go into a schizophrenic funk walk that scared the shit out of the child I was holding.
This album has been sitting on my computer for a couple weeks and I just got around to listening to it. I apologize for the negligence. This is the first track on DANCEHALLHORNSOUND!!!!, and it makes me want to worship the rest of the mixtape, which you can grab for whatever you do or don't want to pay for it.
I don't know shit about DJ Fishr Pryce, but you can jump headfirst into his world by clicking that link. Whatever he did to this mixtape, it worked out really well.
Now, it's the weekend, get off yer computer and go do something.
